Short version: the tools are free, they run on your own device, and they are offered without any warranty. The calculators produce estimates for orientation, not rulings or professional advice. Use them accordingly.
The calculators are estimates, not advice
Several tools here touch subjects where being wrong has real consequences — money and religious obligation. These are the ones to be careful with:
- Zakat and tithe calculators. These apply a standard rate to figures you enter. Scholarly and denominational opinion genuinely differs on what counts as a qualifying asset, how debts are treated, which nisab threshold applies, and when the year turns. The output is arithmetic on your inputs, not a ruling. Confirm with a qualified scholar or accountant before acting on it.
- Prayer times, Hijri conversion, qibla direction, Ramadan and liturgical trackers. These use published astronomical and calendrical algorithms, and the calculation method you choose changes the answer. Local moon sighting, your mosque's or community's adopted convention, and local authority all take precedence over a number on a screen. The qibla compass additionally depends on your device's sensors and on a magnetic declination model, both of which can be off.
- Freelance rate and unit calculators. General-purpose arithmetic. They know nothing about your tax position, your jurisdiction, or your contracts.
Nothing on this site is financial, legal, tax, religious or professional advice, and using a tool here creates no advisory relationship. Where a tool page cites its sources, those sources are the authority — not this site's implementation of them.
No warranty
The tools and content are provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. I have tried to make them correct and will fix bugs I am told about, but I cannot promise any specific result.
Because the tools run in your browser, their behaviour depends on your browser, your operating system and your device. A tool that works in one browser may behave differently or fail in another.
Your files are your responsibility
Processing happens locally and nothing is uploaded, which also means nothing is backed up. Converted output is generated fresh and is not retained anywhere. Keep your originals. Check the output before relying on it — particularly for lossy conversions and background removal, where results vary with the input.
Acceptable use
Use the tools for anything lawful, personal or commercial, no attribution required. Do not use them to process material you have no right to process, and do not attempt to disrupt the site or redistribute it as your own service.
Content and intellectual property
The articles, copy, design and code of this site are mine unless stated otherwise. Quote a reasonable extract with a link and credit; do not republish whole articles. Files you process with the tools remain entirely yours — I never receive them and claim nothing over them.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, I am not liable for any loss or damage arising from use of this site or its tools, including lost data, lost profits, or decisions made on the basis of a calculator's output.

Articles and tool pages cite external sources. Those sites are not under my control and linking to one is not an endorsement of everything on it.
Changes
These terms may change; the date at the top reflects the last substantive edit. Continuing to use the site after a change means accepting the current version.
